Cache of Ancient Greek Texts

23 Jun 2008   posted by: Ben C. Smith   tags: website links

Hodoi Elektronikai is a French site with many ancient Greek texts, including The Rich Man by Clement of Alexandria, the Roman Histories by Dio Cassius, several of the Greek romances, Julian the Apostate, and many more. Most of the texts are of a classical nature, such as Herodotus, Homer, and Hesiod; but many are more obscure, such as Hermes Trismegistus.

Enjoy.

Excellent - thank you! It’s from the Catholic University of Louvain, isn’t it?

I’d like to add another French site, remacle.org. This contains lots of French translations of all sorts of stuff, including Macrobius and Firmicus Maternus.

When we think of what the web was in 1998, and how far we have come, just imagine what will be available in 2018!
