Author on Cicero

I was reading something about Cicero's works a few years ago, which discussed the various works he had, and what he wrote and how he wrote them and for what purpose, but I can't even remember who the author was. All I remember is that it was a female author, so that should narrow the list a bit.. Can anybody help? Thanks a lot.
