 Roll Eyes Looking for some views on the issue of Cyrus' son Bardiya/Smerdis vs
; Guamata/false Smerdis; was the latter an invention Darius 1 or
historical fact.

It's difficult to say with certainty, but both Herodotus and Darius mention it. I tend to give it some credence at least in the form of some sort of coup. Could be that Darius was just legitimizing his coup, there's no way to really tell.
